Hi. Thanks for taking a look at my website. Why is it called ICEFIRE and not ‘Chris d’Lacey’? Simply because Icefire is the title of one of my most iconic books and the site was launched around the time that book was first published, back in 2002. Since then, I’ve had a terrific time writing lots of dragon stories (mostly), visiting hundreds of schools, libraries and book festivals, and even touring twice in the USA. It’s been quite an adventure.

At the time of posting this, I’ve not long turned the page on 64 years. I’m still writing and still visiting schools, but not nearly as frequently as I used to. If you’ve come to the website because you’re interested in booking me for a talk, all the details are on my contact page.

Since the inception of the site, much has changed in the digital world. These days, blogs are more immediate and much easier to keep up to date. For that reason I’ve decided to make this a largely static site from now on, one you’d visit for information purposes only. Nothing will change or be renewed unless I feel it’s absolutely necessary.

So please do look through the following pages if you want to discover a little more about me, or book a school visit, or get some tips on writing, or simply to reminisce about The Last Dragon Chronicles. It’s all here.

Thank you,

Chris d’Lacey,
(January 2019)
